In Development 2005-2006

In our new participatory performance piece, Alexis Poledouris and Birds , Dodeska Performance Ensemble creates an audiovisual playground out of a Manhattan apartment. Every member of the audience is given a discman with a unique soundtrack, different for every individual audience member, which gives directions on how to navigate and interact with Alexis Poledouris' world: a world wild with giant birds, tiny detectives, and a live brass band. Adrift in this strange world, Alexis loses track of her identity and soon enlists the audience to help her sort and classify all the birds and other creatures that surround her, hoping to find a place for everything, including herself. Alexis Poledouris and Birds is a uniquely fun theatrical experience featuring text and sound by Robert Quillen Camp, music by Alec Duffy, puppets by Gavin Kroeber and Kirsten Kammermeyer, interactive video by Shaun Rance, direction by Maria Goyanes and featuring Alexis Poledouris as Alexis Poledouris.
